October 31, 2025

Deborah Silver Brings ‘Basie Rocks’ to the Purple Room with Special Guest Sam Harris

Two-time Billboard chart-topping recording artist Deborah Silver is bringing her signature swing and sparkle to Palm Springs for two nights only at the Purple Room. Silver will perform this Friday and Saturday, October 31 and November 1, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the show beginning at 8 p.m.

Silver, known for her dynamic voice and magnetic stage presence, will perform songs from her latest album Basie Rocks, recorded with the legendary Count Basie Orchestra. The project reimagines classic rock songs with a big band twist, turning hits like the Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black” and Peter Frampton’s “Baby, I Love Your Way” into swinging jazz anthems.

“This album was a dream project,” Silver said. “We took rock and roll songs and reimagined them with a swinging big band. It’s been such a joy to see it come to life.” The album features an impressive list of collaborators, including Peter Frampton, Trombone Shorty, Kurt Elling, Arturo Sandoval, and production by the Rolling Stones’ drummer Steve Jordan.

Silver will also perform selections from her earlier album Glitter and Grits, a Western swing take on American Songbook standards. She’ll be joined on stage by special guest Sam Harris, who rose to fame after winning Star Search, and pianist Michael Orland, best known for his longtime role as a vocal coach on American Idol.

Fans can expect a lively, heartfelt evening blending jazz, swing, and classic American music — with a few surprises along the way. Tickets are available now at the Purple Room’s box office and online.
