On November 26, 2025, Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Deborah Silver brings her unmistakable sparkle, powerhouse voice, and deep musical soul to Vic’s Las Vegas for a one-night-only concert that promises to swing, shimmer, and uplift. Already a two-time #1 Billboard Jazz artist and a favorite among music lovers who crave authenticity wrapped in showmanship, Silver arrives in Las Vegas riding a wave of acclaim for her latest triumph: Basie Rocks!; the electrifying, genre-blending album recorded with the legendary Count Basie Orchestra and now the centerpiece of a nationally televised PBS special.
But ask Silver what fans can expect at Vic’s, and she delivers her answer with the humor and sparkle that have become her signature: “Beads. Banter. Belting!” And, she adds, “stellar musicians playing beloved tunes, from The Beatles, Peter Frampton, The Rolling Stones, all reimagined with a jazz twist. What I love to bring to every party is the feeling that we’re all connected by music.”

The Magic of Basie Rocks!
Silver’s Grammy-nominated album is a dazzling reimagining of rock classics transformed into big-band jazz showstoppers. Songs like “Bennie and the Jets” and “Every Breath You Take” swing with the kind of joyful swagger only the Basie Orchestra can deliver.
The project began unexpectedly, following a song Silver co-wrote during COVID to support entertainment workers. That collaboration led producer Steve Jordan to pair her with the Basie Orchestra, a match Silver describes as destiny.
“Once we heard how incredible it sounded with the orchestra, there was no turning back,” she says. “We went all in. It truly felt meant to be.”
Her memories of the recording process glow with reverence: “Arturo Sandoval gave me goosebumps, Pedrito Martinez made me want to dance, and singing with Kurt Elling, Wycliffe Gordon, and Trombone Shorty? Incredible!” Every track, she says, “felt both classic and brand new.”

A Career Rooted in Reinvention, Resilience & Heart
Deborah Silver’s musical journey is a tapestry woven from genres, eras, and life experiences. Raised in a house filled with opera, jazz, swing, R&B, and the Great American Songbook, she learned early that music knows no boundaries. Her albums reflect that eclecticism; from jazz standards to Western swing, from country influences to big-band bravado.
“I’ve never been one to do the same thing twice,” she says. “I believe in putting my own stamp on whatever I sing.”
But Silver’s artistry is deepened by lived experience. She took time away from performing to raise her children; later, she faced enormous health challenges: a rare pregnancy-related bone disease that left her temporarily unable to walk, and a prolonged battle with COVID. Her sister’s long fight with ALS further shaped her commitment to using her voice for impact.
“With determination, faith, humor, and love, I regained my strength,” she says. “It made every breath, every step, and every note mean more.”
Her personal mantra, #NeverTooLate, isn’t a slogan; it’s a philosophy.
“After 40 years in this business, I just got nominated for a Grammy,” she says. “If that doesn’t say it’s never too late… I don’t know what does!”

A Deep Bond with LGBTQ+ Audiences
Silver has long been beloved by LGBTQ+ fans — and the feeling is mutual.
“I’ve always appreciated that the LGBTQ+ community understands reinvention, self-expression, and living out loud,” she says. “They’re the only audience that cheers just as loudly for a costume change as for a high note, and I love them for it!”
She sees powerful parallels between jazz and queer performance culture: “Jazz bravely and purposefully colors outside the lines. That spirit absolutely connects us.”
Her greatest hope for LGBTQ+ concertgoers at her Vic’s performance? “That they’ll hear something that resonates with their lived experience,” she says. “Music becomes personal once it reaches the listener, and hearing how a song touches someone, that’s my favorite part of any show.”

Swinging Into Vegas and Into History
Performing in Las Vegas holds special meaning for Silver.
“How exciting it will be to play in the town where the Rat Pack was born!” she says. “There’s no city in the world with the high vibration of Las Vegas.”
She’s inspired by the icons who shaped the Strip, especially Dinah Washington. “That’s the magic that can only happen in Las Vegas,” Silver says. “The glamour, the sequins, the big bands, I adore all of it. That era had magic. That’s the kind of show I love creating.”

What’s Next for Deborah Silver
With Basie Rocks! gaining national attention and a Grammy nomination, Silver shows no signs of slowing down. She’s preparing to release a star-studded duets album featuring Bill Medley, Jack Jones, Ronnie Milsap, Diane Schuur, Freddy Cole, Ray Benson & Asleep at the Wheel, and more.
And after that? “I already have a brand-new concept lined up for my next album — one I hope to bring to life with a very special symphony,” she says.
When asked whether she envisions a Las Vegas residency, Silver laughs warmly: “A residency? What a dream that would be! Say the word and, like Dinah, I’ll pack my two suitcases!”

Deborah Silver’s upcoming performance at Vic’s Las Vegas isn’t just a concert — it’s a celebration of resilience, joy, reinvention, and world-class musicianship. With her blend of glamour, humor, heart, and incomparable vocal artistry, she brings a taste of classic Vegas magic back to the modern era.
If Silver has her way, November 26 won’t be your last chance to see her in the desert.
“I know some call it ‘Sin City,’” she says. “But if I have my druthers, I’ll help rebrand it as ‘SwingTown.’”
